i think it's import to have a handful of places to go or books to open or paths to walk or garden patches to look upon when you are searching for more than the limited expanse of your own thoughts.
whenever i feel a need for inspiration, i most always turn to the natural world around me ~ it has always been this way, for as long as i can possibly remember. if ever i feel out of sorts, i usually step outside, even into the smallness of our wild backyard, and just quietly take it in.
i have been inspired by a tag on instagram lately titled 'monday mandala' and it has opened new worlds inside of me, as the subtle act of arranging blooms and stems and bits of plants is deeply therapeutic for me. my heartbeat slows and my mind is soft, focused and seemingly endless. there is no one right way to make a floral mandala, you just go where your hands and blooms take you.
it is quite possibly my new favorite hobby, and i wish i had begun years ago.
